I really enjoyed this course. I am one of those people that THINK they know it all. I thought I knew what a casting person would want form a self-tape. Boy was I off! I got great tips and feedback from Sarah and the rest of the class. Very satisfying to see your last self-tape compared to your first one. I now feel confident that I can deliver a quality self-tape that will help me nail that next gig! I would recommend you take this every actor, even if you THINK you know what you are doing. Before this course, I had very little confidence in recording myself and knew nothing about how an audition worked.

It not only showed me how to self-tape, but it taught me a lot about the acting world. It was also great fun!

A highly worthwhile experience!

I highly recommend this course. You are provided with very useful feedback on framing, lighting, and sound. The monologues are challenging and you are free to make them your own. Links to apps and other resources such as memorising lines, are provided. Overall a highly worthwhile experience!

I thought the Self-Tape 7 day course was brilliant! There was lots of really good and helpful training information provided. The scripts were super fun and I enjoyed the variation in the scripts too. Sarah provided awesome support throughout the program. A big “thank you” to Sarah. The web page for the course was easy to navigate. It also promoted a group atmosphere amongst the participants. The Self Tape Academy has been a welcoming and warm place to venture into ourselves. Learning daily techniques has helped me to progress towards taking further steps to an acting career. Everyone was so welcoming and nice. Sarah was with us every step of the way with positive feedback, and dropping gems to us about the industry itself. Best Practical Learning Experience

The seven-day self-tape challenge was one of the best practical learning experience I have ever had. Right from the start of day 1, all the instructions and explanations videos were easy to understand and very interesting to watch. The great continuous feedback from fabulous mates, and the professional support and hints from lovey Johanna was more than an amazing support to push through the seven days.

I feel now much more confident in doing future auditions in the right way that casting managers would like to see and avoid the mistakes that used to do beforehand. I can’t recommend this course highly enough for everyone who is willing to learn the right tool and techniques to create great auditions or ever to gain acting experience while performing a different script.

This course was excellent for learning the basics of self tape auditioning which is extremely helpful for the shift to online auditions.  All the tools and tutorials are provided which saves time in researching.  Sarah is available for help and gives regular feedback from which everyone can learn and improve.  Useful tips are abundant from Sarah and other students are able to share their observations too. Smaller course numbers work well.  Thanks Sarah and team for putting this course together, I feel much more confident and competent at self tapes since completing the course.

I had so much fun on the Self Tape course, and came away much more inspired and confident than I felt going in. Sarah is a wonderful mentor; you can really see she is passionate about helping her students do their best. Her kindness and knowledge really shines, and the “self-tape community” was so encouraging and welcoming the whole way through.

I thoroughly enjoyed this Course, and fully recommend it to anyone looking to add more skills to their Portfolio. This course caters to everyone, including someone like myself who has never done any acting and am very new to the Film industry. I learned a lot through all the tutorial links and instructional videos. I also enjoyed the feedback from other class members and Facilitator on our daily Monologue homework. I used these skills in a couple of auditions last week and I landed a role in a Commercial.

In just seven days, I learned how to do the self-tape properly, use the right equipment for lighting and audio. I get to see the other people’s self-tapes when we were given a script to execute.

I really enjoyed taking this course. I gained so much experience and learned so much from it. It helped me with learning to audition and to understand the directors point of view. I learned to be more expressive, which is something I don’t normally do. I think this course will help people have a much better chance to get the role on the audition because you know what you have to do with acting, editing and even filming set up. You will learn the basics of how to Light, Frame, and Edit your Audition from your like-minded course peers. On my course, everyone was really supportive and provided great feedback to make each day’s Audition, just that little bit better. Really enjoyed it!

I highly recommend this class.

I’m not one who usually is looking forward to commentary or criticism from my competition. For the first time in my life, this class made me look forward to it. I was told and encouraged about things I didn’t notice and even given a boost of confidence every so often. Technically, I am now ahead of the tech gods that refuse to operate and now know how to work around them to save myself time and frustration. For both those features alone, along with the price, I highly recommend this class.

Its back to back routine keeps you on the ball and really helps cement the knowledge you pick up each day. With such an intimate group of classmates, I truly enjoyed watching everyone’s journey and getting to see how quickly and drastically everyone improved.

I learned some great skills in the 7 days I consider myself to be a technology dinosaur yet I got by, editing compressing my videos and uploading them. Learning new scripts every day and receiving reviews from our facilitator and peer group.

Before taking this self-tape course, I was an absolute amateur! There are many key elements to consider when doing a self-tape that I never thought about before. This course is highly interactive with awesome and helpful classmates too, which makes it even better because we all help each other out along the way. Not to mention the coach is right there with you the whole time. My videos went from amateur to professional looking in only 7 days! I would absolutely recommend this course to a friend, it’s 100% worth it.

Really helpful course! The group aspect is great as you gather different opinions and ideas and it makes you think about other ways of perceiving a script which helps you broaden your acting possibilities. Very much recommend 🙂

I’m so happy my mum put me into this course because it really made me out of my comfort zone trying to learn new things while getting feedback from my peers. Before I started this course I was completely clueless when it came to self-tape auditions and seeing as doing things online has seemed to be the new way (especially thanks to COVID 19) I think this was definitely beneficial for me and is beneficial for many other young actors and actresses wanting to get into the industry.
